Saturday saw Ballymoney 1XV take to Kilraughts Road for their first home game of the season, and they maintained their impressive run of bonus points with a convincing 29-13 win over Grosvenor, writes 1XV Captain, Will Scott.

Ballymoney wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with their first attack of the game yielding points within five minutes. Grosvenor conceded an early penalty, allowing Ballymoney to kick to the corner. From the resulting lineout, a powerful driving maul saw Joel Heggarty cross the line for the game's opening try. The conversion was missed, leaving the score at 5-0.

Grosvenor responded quickly, capitalising on a penalty from the restart. Opting to take the points, they closed the gap to 5-3 with a well-struck penalty kick.

The hosts continued to apply pressure, and it wasn't long before their efforts were rewarded. At the 10-minute mark, after sustained attacking phases, Grosvenor conceded another penalty deep in their own territory. Ballymoney’s Paddy Carson showed quick thinking, taking a tap penalty and darting over the line under the posts. Carson added the conversion himself, extending the lead to 12-3.

As halftime approached, Ballymoney added a third try. A clever kick through from Paddy Carson was gathered by No. 8 Marcel Ngyutin, who finished well to make it 17-3. The conversion was missed again, but Ballymoney looked in control. Grosvenor managed to add another three points just before the break with a penalty, reducing the deficit to 17-6.

The second half began with Ballymoney looking to secure the all-important bonus point, and they did so in style. A perfectly executed kick to the corner from Carson set up another powerful maul. Matthew Pollock smartly popped the ball inside to Davy "DD" Brown, who bulldozed over for Ballymoney's fourth try. Carson added the extras, pushing the score to 24-6.

Ballymoney weren't done yet. Brown grabbed his second try of the afternoon shortly after, finishing off another spell of sustained pressure. Though the conversion was missed, the scoreboard read 29-6, and the home side were in full control.

Despite a late surge from Grosvenor, which saw them cross for a consolation try beneath the posts, Ballymoney comfortably saw out the game to secure a 29-13 victory.

This win continues Ballymoney 1XV's promising start to the season, with another bonus point secured at Kilraughts Road.

**Final Score: Ballymoney 29-13 Grosvenor**
